Welcome to the Axbridge Church of England First School website. We have six classes for children from 4-9 years and we also have the Cheddar Valley Busy Bees Nursery on site for 3 year - olds. Our Headteacher is Mrs Gillian Briggs.
We have a very committed team of teachers, non-teaching and ancillary staff. Our office staff are friendly and approachable and are available in school hours for any requests. Axbridge Church of England First School is a highly successful school academically. In 2008 all provision was judged to be 'outstanding' by OfSTED. We hold the Healthy Schools' Award and the Active Mark, both of which reflect our commitment to supporting every aspect of a child's development. Recently we achieved Artsmark Gold in recognition of our excellent provision in art, music, dance and drama. The outstanding success of the school is also due to a committed governing body and an active parent body. We are an inclusive school, welcoming everyone to join our community.
